Why this exists
As AI and autonomous systems become more capable, many areas of human work, judgement, creativity, care, and responsibility will be transformed. The Human Value Observatory exists to understand what humans uniquely do, enable, embody, and bring into the world.

Over time, this site may grow into a living catalogue of human value: essays, examples, research notes, visual maps, interviews, frameworks, and tools for understanding where human value is being reduced, where it is expanding, and where it should be protected.
